Cartoon Eyes |
In this photo I wanted to do a glamour look, and although its not a super clean photo I wanted to portray the look in a way that makes it seem more dramatic. The makeup didn't necessarily have a purpose of meaning, and it was more of me having fun and experimenting with lines in a makeup look. The look was outlandish and not something you'd see someone wear on regular basis or on a normal day, so I wanted the photo to match. The makeup look matches the photo as it's dramatic and conveys a feeling of intrigue for the audience. The black and white filter, and the fan along with the angle and makeup look create this feeling as it focuses on the model and her eyes rather than whats going on behind her, and the meaningless makeup enhance this affect.

All Wrapped Up
I wanted to try something new and explore conceptual photography and play around with lighting and color. In this Photo I wanted to grasp the concept of feeling trapped in a bad place/situation and covering up your true feelings with grace and perfection. The colors red and black are used in reference to something evil or sinister so I chose to use red light to represent the bad place/situation and black lace to represent how one chooses to cover up and hide. The lace is an important component as it shows the elegance and perfection that one will use to cover themselves with to hide from the chaos in their lives. Although you need help and want to get out of that head space, the lace (or the facade of being okay) is keeping you in that bad place. Only until you take off the lace will you be able to deal with whats going on and leave it behind.

Head in The Clouds
After doing some darker photography I wanted to do something light and simple. In this photo the balance of the bright blue sky to the brown and beige ground makes the subject pop out more from her background. The subjects bright red jacket stands out from both the foreground and background as it contrasts with the bland colors in the foreground and the complimentary color of the sky. The slight tilt of the subjects head makes the photo more dynamic and natural against the straight lines in her setting. overall the bright colors, and composition make this photo interesting and dynamic.
