In the Clouds
Some of Dora Maars most famous and well known works are that of her photo collages. I tried ti use that technique in the best way I could as to try and get the surreal feeling that her photos give me. I've often heard the idea that the sky upside down looks like the ocean so i thought I'd entertain that idea with this photo. Personally I really like this photo because of its tranquil nature and how it seems to bring the viewer piece. although the fellings you may get from this as compared to Maar's work, the idea is still the same.

Only External
I'm not quite able to make a political statement as meaningful or as surreal as a Maar was able to but here I tried my best. In this photo I wanted to tell the message of female sexuality and how women are taught to hate and not know about their bodies. the idea is that the real woman hides behind a social idea of what she should be and the light on top of the cage in the front is her head. I put the light on the cage as to represent the idea of her being lost within herself- shes lost her head, and she will only get it back when she is able to embrace and accept the real her.

Of the Center Flame
Dora Maar often played around with pattern and the overlapping of two images. I tried my best to recreate that technique of the multiple elements looking like chaos and the center being the point of focus. this idea might reflect Maars outlook on the world as she found a subject in the midst of a chaotic situation such as the depression or WWII.
