What is composition?
Composition is the way pieces and elements of a photo os arranged visually to tell a story. A successful composition can be defined by the way the elements are arranged, aligned, and distributed, in order to tell a story, as well as look visually pleasing. some examples of of composition include the Rule of Thirds, Focus, Leading Lines, Contrast, and the Golden Ratio.
Different Types of Composition
- Rule of Thirds: a Photo is split up into three sections vertically and horizontally, and elements of an image are arranged into the cross sections of the photo.
- Golden Ratio: the golden ratio is a mathematical pattern that is found in almost anywhere in the world.
- Focus: When a certain point of your photo is the focus and most of the viewers attention is brought to this point.
- Leading Lines: when lines are used to lead the viewers attention across the photo or to a focal point
- Contrast, when elements of a photo, such as shape, size, color, or position, stand out against each other.
