What are Portraits
Portraits are photos of people, where it focuses on the faces of the people. Portraits are used to show emotion and character, an are used in portfolios of actors and photographers alike.
Different types of Portraits
- Altered Perspectives : When the camera is altered into a low or high angle to make the portrait more interesting to the viewer
- Avoid Eye Contact : when the subject is not looking at the camera, can be posed or candid, as long as the model isn't looking at the camera.
- Candid : when the model is naturally posed or is unposed even. candid captures the most realistic version of the subject.
- Posed : when the subject or model is pose. This can show a more exagerated emotion but takes time to perfect.
- Props : props are another way to make a photo interesting as it adds another focal point. used often in candid photos because it gives the subject something to do.
- Lighting : Lighting is important because it can conceal or bring out a models features. Lighting can also set the mood of the photo and allows you to capture the reality of candid photos.
