What Is Framing in Photography?
Framing in photography is the way a photo is taken from a certain distance and shows things like location and time, as well as detail and emotion.
Types of Framing
- Extreme Wide- An extreme wide shot helps the viewer understand general location, time and environment of the photo. It tells a story, though it doesn’t have too many details
- Wide- A wide shot establishes a subject and an environment in relation to the subject. The wide shot still hides some details so the environment is more prominent in comparison to the subject
- Medium- A medium shot is used to emphasis a subject while still allowing the Audi to see what and where things are happening, so the subject is more prominent than the environment.
- Close Up- This shot is used to bring the details of the photo to the viewers attention. This is used to help convey emotion and show detail
- Extreme Close Up- This shot is used to show one prominent detail, and bring all of the viewers attention to that one point, as they are forced to look at that one and only specific detail.
