Puppydog Eyes
This photo in color would have been less exciting and less cute in my opinion. The black and white filter allow other elements and features to stand out from the picture, such as the angle and texture of the dogs head. What I personally enjoy about this photo is the angle of the camera. It lets us see the cute eyes of the puppy however the focus of the picture is on the nose and instead brings attention to it rather than the eyes.

I've always enjoyed overgrown plants and when they take over building when their abandoned is so fascinating to me. By dong so their turning something old and run down into something beautiful. However overgrown plants in homes that are being lived in and still have a similar affect of adding life to something that is a little plain. This doorway is relatively simple but the plants and decor pulls it together to make it into a home.

When black and white is used its usually put into two categories: the grotesque, and "deep." Basically black and white is used for two extremes, and in this photo I wanted to achieve the more grotesque look. Nature is most often depicted in photography as something to behold, but in this I wanted to show how close up nature isn't as pleasing. This is a small noni plant also known as the "vomit fruit" and ants feed from the juices spilling out of the young fruit. the combination of the under developed fruit, plus the ants and strange shapes of the natural fruit makes the picture seem disturbing or at least displeasing to see.
